Why I Chose These Videos:
I was interested in the Time Displacement and Video Experimental videos because of their varied levels of being UNSETTLING. Video Experimental was interesting because my assumptions as to what was going on kept changing as the video progressed, and the Time Displacement video made me uncomfortable overall (probably because of my problems with body horror). The Cut Copy Video Art film interested me because of the use of the backwards motion. The paint moving in a direction it shouldn't was intriguing enough but having it on a model that constantly interacted with it made it even cooler to me.Three Transitions, Video Arte, and The Chase were just either odd or interesting to me, but they didn't stand out as strongly as the others. I enjoyed the illusions, colours, and different lightings as I went through my selected videos, and the use of the music in each of them was very complimentary (or lack thereof for the Three Transitions video). I'm not too sure that I can connect any of these videos to my personal life other than the want to create something as strangely appealing as these short films turned out to be. I would love to create something as interesting as one of these and watch viewers theorize what they think it represents.
